Student Archaeologist Shares Information about Peninsula Prehistoric Occupation

Peninsula State Park welcomes Michelle Birnbaum on Monday, July 16, from 10 – 10:45 AM at the Nicolet Beach Shelter.

Birnbaum’s talk will highlight the prehistoric occupation of the Peninsula State Park area. People have camped at Nicolet Beach for centuries, from paleo to historic times. This program will inform participants of archaeological evidence of trade. Michelle Birnbaum is a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She is a recipient of a 2012 research grant from Friends of Peninsula State Park.

Her program is free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required. If you need additional information phone Peninsula’s nature center at 920-854-5976.
