Second Annual Meeting

We gathered on Saturday, September 20 for the second annual Friends meeting held at the Welcker’s Point shelter house. The weather was beautiful, the food was excellent, but the highlight was the presentation given by Kathleen Harris, Naturalist at Peninsula State Park

Kathleen generated a lot of interest and drew the audience into her talk about the Woodcock, also known as the “timberdoodle.” We all learned of the many characteristics of the Woodcock. Everyone was motivated to try observing the “timberdoodle’s” evening mating ritual next spring at Kodanko field.
