Bald Eagles have made a big comeback in Wisconsin following a few decades of thoughtful pesticide legislation. Peninsula is celebrating the success of collaborative environmental efforts by featuring the bird on its 2014 Like to Hike pin. Pins are available for purchase exclusively at Peninsula, with all proceeds benefitting nature education. Cost is $6.00 per pin, including tax. However, if you traverse Peninsula trails or participate in park activities, cost per pin is just $3.00, including tax.

Pick up a 2014 Like to Hike log at Park Headquarters or the Nature Center, or download it here. Activities can be modified for those with special needs. Hit the trail, then come back to the park with a completed “log” to receive the discount. Many pins are also given away to guest presenters and youth groups who do service Peninsula service work.

Like to Hike activities emphasize silent sports( such as hiking, snowshoeing, biking, skiing and paddling), as well as resource appreciation. Peninsula has been offering a collectible pins for fourteen years, with each year featuring a different design. If you need additional information call Peninsula Park Headquarters at 920-868-3258.
