Nature Center Volunteer Training Monday, May 16th

Looking for a friendly place to help kids and grown-ups appreciate Door County nature? Consider volunteering at Peninsula’s Nature Center.

Training (or refresher training) is scheduled for Monday, May 16, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Nature Center. If you don’t have a park vehicle sticker but would like to attend, ask for a courtesy pass at Park Headquarters. Learn how to help the staff the county’s busiest Nature Center, or how to lend a hand at programs. A light lunch will be served following training.

Pileated Woodpecker: The distinct coloration and large size of this woodpecker make it an unmistakable sight in Peninsula's forests. Look for evidence of the pileated woodpecker--elongated holes--on trees throughout the park.
