Endowments

The Friends of Peninsula State Park have established three endowment funds. You may contribute to these funds or establish such contributions as part of your estate planning.

Interpretive Nature Center Fund

This endowment supports the future construction and maintenance of a new Interpretive Nature Center at Peninsula State Park. The current Nature Center dates back to the late 1930s. The project is still in the early stages of development.

“For Now and the Future” Fund

This endowment provides for the general security and support of the organization’s overall activities.

Endowment for Peninsula Research Fund

This endowment supports senior or graduate level research projects involving biological, ecological, and historic research projects at Peninsula State Park. A grant awards committee will evaluate proposals and award research grants from the Endowment for Peninsula Research Fund.

Endowment Management

The Door County Community Foundation is responsible for the investment management of these funds. The operation and distribution of assets from the Interpretive Nature Center Fund and the For Now and the Future Fund will be done by the Friends’ Board of Directors working with park management.
