Peninsula State Park hosted 36 students from Fox Valley Tech, who visited the park to work on a project mapping park trails and sewers. The potential use of the data gathered will impact future projects and the use of the property.
The mapping group did a wonderful job despite the snow. Everyone was very pleased with their work. They really loved the food that the Friends provided and were very appreciative. The staff, which included Kathleen, Jane, & Chuck, went out of their way to make them feel welcome and comfortable. If you have a chance to get into the Pig in Sister Bay, please thank Jay Kita and the deli staff for the wonderful job they did in providing the food and being so accommodating to our needs.
This was a good example of how the Friends can contribute to the long term well-being of the Park.
