Eagle Tower Fund Committee Surpasses October 15th Goal, Raising Over $150,000 to Date

As efforts to rebuild Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park continue, the Eagle Tower Fund committee has far surpassed its initial October goal of $50,000. The committee has raised over $150,000 to date through the generous donations of over 150 donors and countless others who have supported the project by visiting local area businesses.

The department is currently working to hire an Architect/Engineer to produce conceptual designs and fundraising renderings. This is the next milestone in laying out the Tower specifications and site plan.

The Eagle Tower Fund committee continues to plan for the use of the reclaimed wood which will be analyzed by Forest Products Lab the week of October 17th. Programming on this process will take place on Tuesday October 18th at 4:00 at the Gibraltar Town Hall.

Additional information on the deconstruction of the Tower can be found on the DNR website at http://dnr.wi.gov/News/Weekly/.

More information on recognition opportunities and site details are forthcoming. Please consider joining our efforts to rebuild this iconic piece of history. Donations are tax deductible and checks can be made out to Friends of Peninsula State Park – Eagle Tower Fund. Donations can be mailed to Eagle Tower Fund Committee PO Box 353 Egg Harbor, WI 54209.
